Brenda has been an acrylic painter and mixed media artist since 2016, creating paintings and collages every chance she gets. Brenda has been a full-time college business professor since she received her Ph.D. in 1992. She is also a private consultant and corporate trainer to industry. A sought-after public speaker, Brenda educates and entertains groups of all sizes and backgrounds. Brenda did a stint as an amateur stand-up comic in her late 30’s. She performed at the Addison Improv in Dallas, Texas, and at Hyena’s Comedy Club in Arlington, Texas. She won the “Bodacious Crowd Pleaser” award at the Blue Night of the Stars Talent Show in Denton, Texas, for her stand-up routine.

Brenda resides in Chocowinity, North Carolina, with her beloved rescue dog, Tito Burrito. Tito is a senior Malti-Poo, with a touch of Havanese mixed in. He was adopted in March of 2023 and faithfully supervises her painting sessions in the art studio.
