After way too many years working in a business environment as an Information Technology Manager I retired from business, and started selling my paintings. My wife and I relocated from Massachusetts to North Carolina in 2018. After moving my paintings changed from the rocky coastal scenes of southern New England to be centered around images the beautiful emerald waters in and around the North Carolina coasts. Periodically, I travel away from the east coast and I see inland images that just need to be painted. I paint in a representation style, but I am not afraid to change a scene to make it more pleasing (moving objects, pushing colors, changing contrasts, etc.). I am finding that North Carolina offers me a wonderful diversity in subject matter for my paintings.
I paint both in Plein Air (outdoor on location) and in my studio. I paint images that I find pleasing and that just seem to capture my heart.
I’ve studied with various professional artists and continue to push my artistic style and subjects. One of the best parts of being in a gallery like River Walk is the viewing of others works and relationship building with other local artists.
